Zamboanga City. San Antonio Ma. Claret Parish in cooperation with Claret School of Zamboanga City and Zamboanga-Basilan Integrated Development Alliance, Inc. (ZABIDA) conducted a feeding and origami-learning activity for the elementary school pupils of Barangay Rio Hondo, Zamboanga City, Wednesday, September 10, 2015.as an expression of our concept of peace-building.
Teachers from Claret School of Zamboanga City together with ZABIDA staff taught the school children on how to do origami of “peace birds”. The feeding program followed and was conducted by the youth and lay leaders of San Antonio Ma. Claret Parish, staff of Katilingban para sa Kalambuan, Inc. Akay Kalinga, Reach Out to Others Foundation, Peace Advocates Zamboanga, members of the Interreligious Solidarity for Peace, faculty of the elementary school and out-school youths enrolled in ZABIDA’s Mindanao Youth for Development program. The activity was also graced by the city councilor Rudy Bayot.
ZABIDA had also conducted a similar Solidarity Day activity in Tetuan Central Elementary School last September 8 with a supplemental feeding and teaching of organic farming methods to the school’s students and teachers.
